I would love a NERS enhancement that only authorized terms from controlled vocabularies should ever appear in the catalog.

“Uncontrolled” terms are rarely flagged in article metadata from publishers, so when we had these conversations, it has been sent to publishers to fix upstream

If we want any additional breakout rooms to discuss specific NERS ideas we can add one

I liked the suggestion to change the display. I hate having to change LGBTQ to Sexual minorities to make authority control happy.

CDI has no authority control or normalization process that’s editable by customers.

In PBO, your new terms will be searchable. In VE, you'd need a new norm rule for seach, plus have all relevant bib records reindexed by Ex L

There are some methods to change or augment the metadata later on.

Customers don't have access to CDI's black box.

You can report metadata issues to CDI vendors, but you can't control when those are fixed, so these are some approaches to fixing display in the mean time

­­­­­But one can theoretically create a search and facet normalization rule (in addition to the norm rule that replaces terms) that would allow users to click on hyperlinked subject strings with replaced terms and find other resources with those strings. Wouldn't affect the CDI problem, however.

When you refer to local record changes, is this IZ or does this include NZ records for consortia with a network zone where the process is to get updates pushed to the NZ record from OCLC?
